The FoodTech Challenge is a global competition that seeks innovative solutions in food safety.
The competition supports the United Arab Emirates’ commitment to providing its population with sufficient, safe and nutritious food. The competition invites candidates from all walks of life to join. University students and start-up companies with previous experience in urban agriculture are particularly encouraged to apply.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Applications for the FoodTech Challenge are accepted from September 2019 to February 2020.
2. A panel of experts will select the top ten applicants, who will then be invited to present their business case in person in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
3. The final will consist of a three-day event on food and agriculture technologies, including workshops and roundtables, networking sessions, and the awards ceremony.
4. Four winning teams will share prizes of up to US $ 1 million, cash prizes and eligibility for an UAE acceleration program.
HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE

Deadline for early risers
December 15, 2019
Participants who submitted their nominations by December 15 at 11:59 PM will receive the first comments from the FoodTech Challenge team to improve their bid.

Submission deadline
February 13, 2019
Submissions will not be accepted after this date. A group of international and local agtech experts will review and select the top 10 teams.

Invitation to the awards ceremony
March 15, 2019
The top 10 teams will receive an invitation from the FoodTech Challenge team to participate in the awards ceremony in April.
