HiSoMA scholarship, History and Sources of the Ancient Worlds

Created in 2019, the HiSoMA scholarship is aimed at foreign doctoral and post-doctoral students who have defended their thesis after 2015, who  have never been registered in a French institution.  and having no affiliation or link with a French university or institution. They must imperatively present a research project linked to HiSoMA’s activities (detailed dossier to be presented below). The purpose of the HiSoMA scholarship is to finance a one-month research stay in Lyon. This stay is fixed in March of each year. The laboratory will cover travel and accommodation costs in Lyon up to a limit of 1,200 euros, as well as a lump sum of € 600 for meals.

The team of medjouel.com informs you that the candidates must send by electronic means a single file written in French or in English including the 3 following documents:

Document 1: academic curriculum vitae, mentioning any publications (2 pages maximum)
o Document 2: description of the research project in French or in English (maximum 9000 characters
including spaces ). The latter must be linked to one of the laboratory’s programs (see on the site:
https://www.hisoma.mom.fr/recherche-et-activites/quinquennal-2016-2020/projet-scientifique), or more
broadly his areas of research
o Document 3: letter of recommendation from the thesis director or a specialist in the field
of research

The scholarship is awarded by a jury made up of members of the HiSoMA scientific committee (management and responsible for the 4 research axes), the referent member of the scholarship, an outside researcher in laboratory water, a A doctoral student and a post-doctoral student from the laboratory and a member of the International Relations department of one of the unit’s supervisors.

The selection made by the jury for the award of the scholarship is made on the basis of two criteria: the quality of the project presented and its integration into the laboratory’s programs.
