Dr. Rurainski Postdoctoral Fellowships at DKFZ – Heidelberg, Germany

The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg invites highly motivated scientists interested in cancer and epigenetics research to apply for a three-year fully-funded Postdoctoral Fellowship supported by the Dr. Rurainski Foundation to work at one of the leading Cancer Research Centers worldwide. As Germany’s largest biomedical research institute, DKFZ offers exciting postdoc opportunities in basic, computational, epidemiological, prevention, and translational cancer research. Located on the biomedical campus of Heidelberg University, in close vicinity to other top research institutions, DKFZ provides an interdisciplinary working environment that builds on scientific exchange and excellence.

This year, for the first time ever, two Dr. Rurainski Postdoc Fellowships at DKFZ will be awarded to postdocs that intend to work on an epigenetics project at a DKFZ group. Fellows will be awarded a competitive grant over a duration of 3 years to cover their own salary (basis on a TV-L E13 contract) and costs related to the project (material, service, and travel costs).

Candidates are encouraged to apply to the advertised projects, but alternative projects are also accepted.

Requirements to apply:

  • Be an international candidate interested in performing a project at a DKFY research group in the field of epigenetics.
  • A qualification equivalent to a PhD or MD is a prerequisite for all applications (PhD degree officially granted latest by November 2023).
  • Candidates should document their successful previous research endeavors with publications.
  • Very good English level.
