Researcher in theoretical modelling of mechanical properties

Job description

We are looking for a researcher who will work on the development of ab-initio based models of metallic materials, in particular, mechanical properties of bulk metals, steels, high entropy alloys and intermetallic compounds. Furthermore this researcher will participate in research planning, applying for research funding, building new collaborations, authoring scientific articles, supervision of doctoral students and postdocs.

Qualifications

To qualify for the post, you should have a PhD in materials science/physics. You should have work experience and publications in quantum mechanical modeling of materials properties of bulk metals, steels and high entropy alloys. You should also be able to demonstrate documented experience in computational materials design.

It is an advantage if you have pedagogical education required for docent at KTH or equivalent teaching experience at university level with course responsibilities. Experience of leading research projects in Sweden and internationally is also considered a merit.

Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have:

  • International work experience
  • Experience of collaboration with industry
  • Teaching experience at university level
  • Research on sustainability perspective

  • Ability to interact with the community and to disseminate research results and educational work to the general public
