2. Eligibility Criteria

• Who Can Apply:

  • Postdoctoral Researchers: Must have above-average academic qualifications, regardless of research area

  • Experienced Researchers: Applicants with an advanced academic career are also encouraged to apply

  • The award is intended for non-German researchers

  • German nationals, or those who have completed all of their higher education (from entry-level to PhD) in Germany, may only apply if they have lived and worked abroad for more than ten years and intend to continue doing so long-term

3. Award Benefits

For Postdoctoral Researchers:

• Monthly Stipend: €2,700 per month (plus additional benefits following the qualification exam, if applicable)

• Duration: Ranges from 6 to 24 months, which can be divided into up to three separate periods over three years

For Experienced Researchers:

• Monthly Stipend: €3,200 per month (plus additional benefits)

• Duration: Ranges from 6 to 18 months, with the possibility of up to three separate stays over three years

General Benefits:

• Opportunity to conduct independent research in collaboration with a host researcher at your chosen German research institution

• Host researchers may apply for supplementary funds to cover their own research expenses
