The European Synchrotron, the ESRF, is an international research centre based in Grenoble, France.

Through its innovative engineering, pioneering scientific vision and a strong commitment from its 700 staff members, the ESRF is recognised as one of the top research facilities worldwide. Its particle accelerator produces intense X-ray beams that are used by thousands of scientists each year for experiments in diverse fields such as biology, medicine, environmental sciences, cultural heritage, materials science, and physics.

Supported by 21 countries, the ESRF is an equal opportunity employer and encourages diversity.

ID31 is a beamline dedicated to high energy x-ray reflectivity, diffraction and imaging studies of buried interface structures. The beamline provides a very high X-ray flux at very high photon energies allowing to study of materials and working devices with sub-micron spatial resolution. You will collaborate with a team of scientist in different fields of materials and electrochemistry research and you will develop your own in-house research project. You will give support to the external users of the beamline and participate to the in-house research programs. In particular, you will be involved in research of electrochemical energy and conversion devices and related materials (fuel cells, electrolyzers, batteries).
