Van Geest Professorship and Directorship of the UK Dementia Research Institute at Cambridge

The Board of Electors to the Van Geest Professorship and the Directorship of the UK Dementia Research Institute at Cambridge invites applications from individuals known internationally for their research record studying the molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration with a view to developing new treatments for dementia and related disorders. We encourage both non-clinical and clinically qualified individuals to apply.

Cambridge is host to a UK Dementia Research Institute centre. The successful candidate is expected to become the Director of this world class neurodegenerative diseases research group and to join the UK DRI national leadership team. The Centre Director will receive significant core funding to support their personal research programme and will oversee funding to support the Centre’s wider activities.

We are seeking candidates who have:

An outstanding track record of securing competitive research funding and publishing the highest quality papers in focused on understanding the molecular basis of neurodegeneration.

The vision, leadership experience and enthusiasm to develop and maintain a leading research presence, and an established record of attracting research grant support to further this development.
