2. Position Overview & Context
McGill University’s Gerald Bronfman Oncology Department is a leader in academic medicine and innovative clinical programs. The Radiation Oncology Division, based at the Cedars Cancer Centre at MUHC, is renowned for its state-of-the-art equipment (True-Beam accelerators, Cyberknife, HDR, CT and 3T MRI simulators, etc.) and active engagement in collaborative translational research. This temporary appointment does not lead to tenure and is intended to replace a faculty member on sick leave.
3. Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate is expected to:

Clinical Work:
Spend at least 60% of their time at the Cedars Cancer Centre at MUHC, with potential off-site clinics and coverage within the McGill Regional Inpatient Unit (RUIS). -
Research Leadership:
Lead and coordinate original research at the clinical and/or fundamental scientific levels, including quality improvement, clinical research, or basic research projects. -
Teaching & Mentorship:
Participate in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and other division members, as well as engaging in continuing education activities. -
Academic Engagement:
Contribute to departmental academic initiatives and serve on academic and administrative committees, in line with McGill’s broader academic mission. -
Service & Collaboration:
Actively participate in service activities within the division, university, and broader scientific community with a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
4. Required Qualifications
Candidates must:

Medical and Specialized Training:
Hold a medical degree (or equivalent) and have completed a fellowship in radiation oncology. Additional post-residency training (clinical fellowship, Master’s, or PhD) is preferred. -
Certifications:
Be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent), hold or be eligible for a license to practice in Quebec, and be certified by the Collège des médecins du Québec. -
Research and Clinical Expertise:
Demonstrate scientific productivity with publications in radiation oncology and expertise in designing, conducting, and analyzing research projects. -
Language Skills:
Proficiency in both French and English is highly desirable, or a commitment to achieving the required language proficiency to effectively communicate with patients, families, and health professionals. -
Preferred Expertise:
Specialization in breast cancer, genitourinary tumors, or SBRT is highly regarded.

Compensation:
Salary is aligned with the Quebec healthcare tariff grid. -
