The University of La Verne offers competitive merit scholarships to all international undergraduate applicants. There is no separate application process as all applicants are considered upon review of a completed and timely submitted application. Financial aid is not available for international students.

American students and permanent residents living abroad are eligible for merit scholarships, ranging from $3,000 to $30,000 per year, and need-based financial aid. Students will be notified of merit scholarships in their admission letter. A complete financial package typically follows three weeks after an admission decision. Criteria are based on a student’s GPA and test scores on the day of admission. Financial aid is based on FAFSA results. The priority filing date is 1 October of a student’s senior year. The priority deadline is on 2 March. Students are encouraged to file the FAFSA as soon as they are eligible.

International Students that are not U.S. citizens may qualify for an International Student Scholarship. There are competitive merit scholarships are open to all first-year applicants. In addition, there are scholarships available specifically for international transfer students.

Performance Scholarships

The University of La Verne offers 12 Performance Scholarships to incoming freshmen and transfer students with outstanding potential. The scholarship is worth $25,000 for the first three academic years and full-tuition in the final year. Two scholarships are available in each of the six areas of fine and visual arts:

  • Art (any combination of painting, sculpture, drawing or mixed media);
  • Communications (video production);
  • Music (voice or instrument);
  • Photography;
  • Speech (debate); and
  • Theatre (performance or design).

FAFSA for Americans Living Abroad

Americans living abroad may qualify for need-based financial aid by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The opening date is 1 October. The priority deadline is 2 March.
