Offer Description

Santé Canada exige auprès de l’industrie agroalimentaire la déclaration obligatoire des 10 allergènes et sources de gluten sur l’emballage de produits alimentaires. Devant le nombre croissant de tests exigés et du coût exorbitant des méthodes de détection d’allergènes telles que l’ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immuno-Sorbent Assay), la célèbre mention de précaution « Peux contenir … » est devenue trop répandue. En l’absence d’une méthode de détection plus performante et moins onéreuse, les personnes allergiques continueront de s’imposer soit une diète restrictive ou un risque pour leur santé. Une équipe de chercheurs de trois universités québécoises (Université de Sherbrooke, UdeS, Université de Montréal, UdeM et Université Laval) s’est associée à deux agences gouvernementales (Agence canadienne d'inspection des aliments, Santé Canada) et de deux organisations de consommateurs sans but lucratif (Allergie Alimentaire Canada et Cœliaque Québec) pour développer une nouvelle méthode de détection d’allergènes plus robuste, plus sensible et moins dispendieuse que l’ELISA. Il s’agit d’une sonde Raman composée d’une nanocorne de carbone (NCC) dans laquelle un marqueur est encapsulé et sur laquelle un anticorps est greffé. Le signal Raman sera plus précis et plus détaillé que le signal en fluorescence de l’ELISA et permettra l’acquisition parallèle des signaux de plus d’un allergène à la fois. L'objectif est de proposer à l'industrie agroalimentaire un dispositif efficace, robuste et moins dispendieux. À terme, ce levier technologique permettra aux parties prenantes d’améliorer l’usage de l'étiquetage de précaution des allergènes et de mieux protéger les consommateurs allergiques. L'objectif de ce projet de thèse proposé est de développer une sonde efficace pour la plateforme de détection allergène. La personne retenue devra élaborer et adapter la sonde aux milieu aqueux de la plateforme et optimiser le protocole afin de maximiser la stabilité et la réponse optique de la sonde. Le travail implique également la caractérisation et le greffage d’anticorps présélectionnés qui serviront pour le développement de la technologie. Pour ce faire, il ou elle devra (i) préparer des sondes et des matériels de référence pour les principaux allergènes retenus, (ii) développer le protocole de synthèse colloïdales et standardiser l'attachement anticorps-biomarqueurs, et (iii) évaluer l'efficacité des protocoles pour identifier les antigènes dans une matrice alimentaire.   Cette thèse en chimie sera encadrée par le Pr. R. Martel et Pr. S. Giasson de l’UdeM et Pr. S. Godefroy de l’ULaval. Les travaux seront principalement réalisés à l’Université de Montréal. Le projet se réalisera en collaboration étroite avec l’Université de Sherbrooke, l'Agence Canadienne d’Inspection des aliments, et les autres partenaires et collaborateurs du projet dans des laboratoires nationaux et internationaux. Nous recherchons des candidats pour rejoindre notre équipe afin de travailler sur deux doctorats indépendants. projets:

  1. "Contrôle hormonal de l'allongement du filament des étamines chez Arabidopsis thaliana ." En utilisant la microscopie confocale, l'ARN-Seq et des reporters fluorescents, nous reconstruirons la dynamique de croissance 3D et l'anatomie de cet organe. Des manipulations biophysiques, hormonales et génétiques permettront de comprendre comment les hormones agissent. Ce projet se déroulera en collaboration avec le Dr Jason Reed (Université de Caroline du Nord à Chapel Hill, États-Unis), le Dr Clay Wight et le Dr Bastiaan Bargmann (Virginia Tech, États-Unis).
  2. « Analyse de la croissance des régulateurs de l'axe corporel au cours de la morphogenèse de style radial et bilatéral. » Nous étudierons la dynamique cellulaire sous-jacente à la formation 3D d'un style radial par rapport aux mutants bilatéraux. Ce projet sera en collaboration avec le Dr Laila Moubayidin et le Dr Richard Smith (John Innes Center, Royaume-Uni).

    Nous recherchons des candidats très motivés et fortement intéressés par la biologie du développement végétal. Le candidat doit avoir la capacité de résoudre des problèmes scientifiques, de bonnes compétences interpersonnelles et être capable de travailler dans un environnement interdisciplinaire. Une expérience en microscopie et en biologie moléculaire est un atout. La diversité est considérée comme une force au sein du laboratoire et tous les candidats qualifiés seront pris en considération de manière égale.

    Notre laboratoire ( https://kierzkowski-lab.com/ ) fait partie du Plant Science Research Institute de l'Université de Montréal, Canada. Le laboratoire Wellington est un groupe vaste et diversifié qui mène des recherches cliniques et précliniques dans les domaines des traumatismes crâniens, de la maladie d'Alzheimer et d'autres formes de démence. Nous recherchons un boursier postdoctoral pour rejoindre le groupe des biomarqueurs fluides cliniques du Laboratoire Wellington. Le groupe des biomarqueurs liquides cliniques utilise des technologies de pointe pour détecter une grande variété de biomarqueurs protéiques dans le sang et le liquide céphalo-rachidien. Ces biomarqueurs protéiques aident à refléter la dynamique complexe du cerveau, permettant ainsi à leurs rôles d'outils de recherche d'aider au dépistage, au diagnostic, au pronostic, à la conception et à l'interprétation des essais cliniques. Nous travaillons en collaboration avec de nombreux cliniciens et cliniciens-chercheurs aux niveaux local, national et international, étudiant divers aspects de la santé et des maladies neurologiques, notamment : les neurotraumatismes, les lésions cérébrales acquises, les soins neurocritiques, la neurodégénérescence et le vieillissement en bonne santé.

Description de l'emploi

Les biomarqueurs fluides peuvent fournir une image détaillée de la santé et des maladies neurologiques à l’aide d’outils relativement peu coûteux, accessibles, objectifs et évolutifs. Il y a eu une expansion rapide de la recherche sur les biomarqueurs sanguins candidats qui se révèlent utiles pour le diagnostic et le pronostic des maladies neurologiques. Ce poste se concentrera sur l'analyse statistique de plusieurs projets impliquant des bases de données à grande échelle provenant de diverses cohortes, y compris, mais sans s'y limiter, les lésions cérébrales traumatiques ou hypoxiques, les lésions de la moelle épinière, la maladie d'Alzheimer et les démences associées, la sclérose en plaques et le vieillissement en bonne santé. Le boursier postdoctoral supervisera son propre projet individuel, qui sera développé en collaboration entre le superviseur et le candidat retenu. Ils fourniront également des conseils aux membres du laboratoire pour d’autres projets.

Principales responsabilités

  • Diriger la conception du projet, y compris l'élaboration de la portée et la rédaction de sections d'analyse statistique pour les demandes de subvention
  • Coordonner et communiquer les objectifs du projet avec les membres du laboratoire et les collaborateurs externes
  • Mener des expériences en analysant des échantillons biologiques
  • Appliquer des approches statistiques avancées aux données à grande échelle, notamment en combinant des données protéomiques/biomarqueurs avec de grandes bases de données cliniques provenant de cohortes comptant jusqu'à 5 000 participants.
  • Conseiller et encadrer des étudiants des cycles supérieurs et du premier cycle concernant les approches statistiques
  • Préparer des présentations et des publications, y compris la production de figures, la rédaction et l'édition

Qualifications minimales

  • Récent achèvement d'un doctorat
  • Au moins 5 ans d'expérience en recherche en biostatistique, science des données, bioinformatique, épidémiologie, médecine de laboratoire clinique ou dans un domaine connexe
  • Forte maîtrise de l'analyse statistique, avec une expérience avec GraphPad Prism, RStudio et SPSS

Qualifications préférées

  • Solides compétences en organisation et en gestion du temps
  • Solides compétences en communication orale et écrite
  • Expérience en supervision de projets et de membres d'équipe
  • Connaissance de base de la technologie des tests immunologiques et du dépannage

Le  salaire minimum légal au Luxembourg à compter de janvier 2024 pour :

  • Ouvrier non qualifié : 2 570,93 euros/mois
  • Ouvrier Qualifié : 3 085,11 euros/mois

Processus de candidature pour un travailleur saisonnier (pour un séjour de moins de 3 mois)

Un ressortissant de pays tiers qui souhaite venir au Luxembourg pour y exercer un emploi saisonnier pendant moins de 3 mois,  doit obtenir un permis de travail.

Ressortissant d'un pays tiers signifie (une personne originaire d'un pays qui n'est ni membre de l'Union européenne (UE) ni d'un pays traité comme tel : Islande, Norvège, Liechtenstein et Suisse).

  • Trouvez une offre d'emploi en tant que travailleur saisonnier.
  • Votre employeur doit obtenir une  attestation  de l'  Agence nationale pour l'emploi (  ADEM ).
  • Une fois l’attestation obtenue, le salarié peut signer un contrat avec un employeur.

Demande de permis de travail : Votre employeur doit demander un permis de travail en votre nom. Le délai d'attente est de 3 mois . A défaut de réponse dans ce délai, la candidature sera réputée rejetée.

Si la  demande de permis de travail est approuvée , le demandeur recevra son permis de travail par courrier.

Processus de candidature pour un travailleur saisonnier (pour un séjour de plus de 3 mois)

Les ressortissants de pays tiers qui souhaitent résider au Luxembourg pendant plus de 3 mois pour y exercer un emploi saisonnier doivent suivre une procédure en 2 étapes :

  1. Avant d'entrer dans le pays :
    • Demander une autorisation temporaire de séjour . (C'est généralement l'employeur qui effectue cette étape).
    • Demandez un visa de type D auprès de l'ambassade/consulat du Luxembourg le plus proche dans votre pays d'origine.
  2. Après être entré au Luxembourg :
    • déposer une déclaration d’arrivée dans les 3 jours suivant votre arrivée.
    • Passer un examen médical
    • Demandez ensuite un titre de séjour pour travailleurs saisonniers ressortissants de pays tiers.

Comment demander le visa de travail saisonnier luxembourgeois ?

Après avoir terminé les étapes ci-dessus, la dernière étape consiste à demander le visa. Le Visa vous permet d'entrer dans le pays.

St. Edward's University, a nationally ranked, independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Science and Policy, beginning August 2024. St. Edward's is characterized by its commitment to the Holy Cross educational mission to educate the hearts and minds of a diverse student body that is deeply committed to social justice.

The successful candidate will contribute to the promotion and growth of the interdisciplinary Environmental Science and Policy program through teaching and service. They will teach four undergraduate courses (twelve hours) per semester, advise students, and participate in department, school, and university service. Teaching will include lower and upper-level undergraduate courses, including courses on sustainability, climate change, and environmental politics and policy at the domestic and global levels. Candidates who can teach GIS and/or environmental law are particularly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will take advantage of the many resources on campus and in the City of Austin to provide high quality hands-on learning experiences for students. Resources include the Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve, the campus food forest, and the campus garden. Organizations and programs on campus such as the Civics Lab, the Kozmetsky Center of Excellence, Students for Sustainability, and the Office of Sustainability are also available resources.

Essential Responsibilities Include: Candidates should have the interest and ability or potential to teach a range of undergraduate courses and support a diverse student body.

  • Teach lower and upper-level undergraduate courses in sustainability, domestic environmental policy, environmental politics, and related fields
  • Provide academic advising and mentoring for undergraduate students.
  • Be an active community member in service to their department, school, and University.
  • Contribute to the promotion and growth of the Environmental Science and Policy major through excellence in teaching and commitment to student growth as defined by the University Mission.

Position Description Professor Xavier Gabaix seeks a highly skilled and motivated individual to work as a full-time predoctoral fellow for a period of at least one year. The preferred start date is August 1, 2024 although earlier or later start dates may be feasible, including starting this academic year. We’re looking for two types of predoctoral fellows:
    • “Machine learning” track: you’re very skilled in machine learning, in particular large language models. Ideally, you would have a Masters in computer science, but a strong undergraduate training in computer science is a fine substitute. Knowledge of economics/finance is optional. Still, the position is particularly instructive if you want to pursue a PhD later in economics or finance, or perhaps in computer science.
 
  • “Macro-finance-behavioral” track: you need to be analytically very strong, and good at programming (e.g. Python). Topics will cover macro-finance, and behavioral theory. The fellow will be actively involved in all stages of research, including brainstorming, proofreading, literature reviews, data search and curation, data analysis, programming. You aspire to do a PhD in economics / finance later.

The research is joint with Ralph Koijen, Robert Richmond and Moto Yogo from U. Chicago, NYU and Princeton. The fellowship includes opportunities to develop a research agenda in related topics, to attend seminars, and to take some courses. The position is the ideal training ground for a recent graduate who is interested in pursuing a PhD in Economics. Compensation is competitive, typically over USD 55,000/year. This 12-month (calendar year) non-tenure track appointment will collaborate with our existing interdisciplinary team in further development of data collection and analytical tools for integrating advanced research tools into typical crop production data systems. The apportionment is 100% research. This position will be located in Lincoln, Nebraska, though some in-state travel is expected. The Agricultural Data Scientist will contribute to the integrated research land-grant mission of the home unit and IANR, as an effective scholar and citizen, including supporting student recruitment and IANR science literacy. Position Duties
  • Collaborate with an existing interdisciplinary team consisting of agricultural engineers, agronomists, economists, statisticians, and computer scientists to further the development of data collection and analytical tools for integrating advanced research tools into typical crop production data systems and providing novel solutions to agricultural data management issues.
  • Develop hardware (e.g., IoT and embedded) systems and software platforms for collecting, post-processing, managing, and analyzing data layers of varying spatial resolutions and temporal frequencies to extract crop performance information.
  • Develop software platforms for analyzing various datasets generated from agricultural field equipment combined with data streaming from research systems (e.g., satellite, aerial, or UAV images).
  • Develop analytical software tools capable of generating graphs, charts, reports and/or other actionable items for future use by agricultural professionals throughout the crop production cycle.
The incumbent is expected to secure extramural funding from federal and state agencies, industry, and private foundations as well as publish in peer reviewed journals and at national and international meetings. The incumbent may be required to provide supervision to undergraduate and graduate students and serve on graduate committees. In addition to the above-described duties, the individual will be expected to accept committee assignments, reporting responsibilities, and other special ad hoc assignments as requested at the administrative unit, college/division, institute, and/or university level. Minimum Required Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. in Biological Systems Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Food Engineering, Computational Sciences, Arts and Sciences, or a closely related field,
  • Demonstrated research experience in experimental data collection, post-processing, and statistical analysis resulting in peer-reviewed publications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience using database, networking, GIS, and/or analytical software such as SQL, MATLAB, Python, ArcGIS, or other similar software.
  • Programming experience with C, VB, R, or related languages and working knowledge of database creation and statistical analysis methods.
  • Demonstrated experience with advanced sensing systems (e.g., optical, magnetic, etc.) data collection.
  • Demonstrated experience in programming advanced analysis tools that could be deployed remotely by others to analyze datasets.
  • Working knowledge or understanding of agricultural crop production systems and data sets related to precision agriculture.

Join AIR as a Principal Public Health Researcher with our Youth, Family, and Community Development program to foster equitable pathways for young people, families, and communities to thrive.  This position will focus on Public Health approaches to prevention to support teams aiming to build evidence on equitable pathways to thriving. This position will require collaboration within and outside AIR, including with program providers, subject matter experts, as well as federal, state, and local agency officials. The researcher will provide data collection, management, analysis, and dissemination support for contract and grant research and evaluation projects. The ideal candidate is committed to a strengths-based perspective as well as mitigating the impacts of both personal and systemic biases in research. The responsibilities for the position include:

  • Serve as Principal Investigator, directing or helping to direct and manage large, complex research projects or a series of smaller projects.
  • Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of research projects, including methods, procedures and reporting.

L’École des sciences infirmières a une histoire et une présence de longue date dans le nord de l’Ontario et prépare les gens à entrer dans la profession infirmière depuis plus de 50 ans. Le programme de baccalauréat en sciences infirmières (B.Sc.Inf.) de quatre ans offert en français est agréé à l’échelle nationale par l’Association canadienne des écoles de sciences infirmières et approuvé à l’échelle provinciale par l’Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers de l’Ontario. Nous offrons également deux programmes supplémentaires en français : le programme de B.Sc.Inf. pour les infirmières autorisées (offert à distance) et le programme pour les infirmières auxiliaires autorisées.

En plus d’offrir une formation en sciences infirmières de premier cycle, les personnes ont également la possibilité d’étudier cette discipline aux cycles supérieurs. Le programme de maîtrise en sciences infirmières (MScInf) offert en français a plusieurs volets : infirmière praticienne (volet clinique), pratique infirmière avancée (volet basé sur des cours), thèse (volet recherche) et certificat post-infirmière praticienne (volet basé sur des cours). Tous les volets du programme M.Sc.Inf. sont offerts à distance à l’exception des exigences sur place pour le programme d’infirmières praticiennes. L’École offre aussi une nouvelle maîtrise en administration de la santé à distance.
