IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center provides Czech and foreign research teams, from both academia and industry, with state-of-the-art HPC and data analysis technologies and services. IT4Innovations currently operates four supercomputers and acts as a research centre with strong international links (www.it4i.cz). We are seeking candidates for the Advanced Data Analysis and Simulations Laboratory to fill the position of:
RESEARCH ASSISTANT
We expect the candidate’s future involvement in the development of the FLOREON+ system (https://floreon.eu) and participation in the scope of the LEXIS project (https://lexis-project.eu). The FLOREON+ system is robust web-based online flood monitoring and prediction system which is also providing real-time data and simulations from the areas of traffic monitoring and modelling, toxic pollution, and population mobility. The LEXIS project builds an advanced engineering platform at the confluence of HPC, Cloud technology, and Big Data which leverage large-scale geographically distributed resources from existing HPC infrastructure, employ Big Data analytics solutions, and augment them with Cloud services.
Job description:
- work in a research team with focus on the development of specialized information systems and applications related to the utilization of supercomputers,
- participation in national and international research and commercial projects,
- front-end web application development,
- collaboration on scientific research outputs.
Requirements:
- bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science and/or related areas,
- experience with front-end web application development,
- knowledge of any widely used web development language/framework (.NET, Java, PHP, Ruby, Angular, React, etc.),
- experience with the code versioning systems (Git, SVN)
- willingness to continue self-education and work in team
- English language – good working knowledge
