APF Walter Katkovsky Research Grants

The Walter Katkovsky Research Grants support research on the general topic of psychotherapy. Research proposals should be directed to questions and hypotheses designed to improve our understanding based on theory or methods of how psychotherapy promotes behavioral, emotional, or cognitive changes.

Applications must be submitted online through APF’s application portal.

Proposal requirements

Please include the following in a single document (no more than seven pages; single-spaced; 1-inch margins, no smaller than 11-point font):

  • description of proposed project to include goals, relevant background, target population, methods, anticipated outcomes, evaluation and dissemination plans for how the results of the effort will be evaluated and reported

Additionally, please include the following:

  • timeline for execution
  • full budget and justification (APF does not allow institutional indirect costs or overhead costs. However, grant monies may be budgeted for direct administrative costs of proposed projects.)
  • abbreviated CV for all principle investigators (10 pages max per CV)
