At Schulich Dentistry, we prepare graduates to provide outstanding dental care as well as generate knowledge through cutting-edge basic and clinical research. We also provide oral health care to the public through our on-site clinics and our community outreach programs, and have recently significantly upgraded our Simulation Clinic which provides a venue for practical training in undergraduate operative, fixed and removable prosthodontic, endodontic, and oral surgical technique.
Applications are invited from qualified individuals for 2 positions as Dental Clinician-Scientist at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry to begin on September 1, 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will be appointed in a Full-time Probationary (tenure-track) faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Exceptional applicants will be considered for an appointment at a higher rank. Qualified applicants will have a DDS/DMD degree (or equivalent) and PhD (or equivalent research training). Candidates must be eligible for full or academic registration (licensure) as a dentist within the Province of Ontario, as stipulated by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO).They will be expected to establish and maintain a vigorous, externally funded research program in dental, oral or craniofacial research. Applicants should have a record of achievement in research and publication appropriate for their stage of career. Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate their ability to lead research in a field complementary to one or more research strengths of the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and Western University. In addition to leading a new area of oral health research, the successful candidates will participate in the teaching and service activities of Schulich Dentistry. S/he will hold a primary appointment in Schulich Dentistry and be considered for cross-appointment in an appropriate basic science or clinical department within the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
