PhD position (4 years) within the Department of Chemistry

A PhD position is available in Inorganic Chemistry in the research group of Professor Jonathan De Roo
You can start as soon after 01.10.2023 as possible. Topic of research “Developing nanocrystal synthesis based on mechanistic insight.” The targeted materials are biocompatible TiO2, ZrO2 and HfO2 nanocrystals. We develop hafnium oxide nanocrystals as CT contrast agents. The project involves synthesis, X-ray scattering, and coordination chemistry.
Candidates must have completed Bachelor and Master degrees in Chemistry or Nanosciences (with adequate synthetic chemistry component), and be available within the next semester. The research group works mainly in English, and a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English is required.
