Position Description:
The Department of Food and Human Nutritional Sciences at the University of Manitoba is inviting applications for a full-time, probationary Assistant Professor position leading to tenure. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The department is seeking an emerging researcher with a passion for excellence in teaching and research. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop a competitive research program and supervise graduate students.
Responsibilities:

Teaching (45%)
Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in food science, human nutrition, and dietetics. -
Research (40%)
Conduct applied research in human nutrition and build relationships with industry, government, and non-governmental organizations. -
Service and Outreach (15%)
Participate in departmental and university service activities and contribute to outreach efforts.
Required Qualifications:

A PhD in Human Nutrition, Food and Nutrition, or a related field.

Eligibility for registration with the Manitoba Association of Registered Dietitians.

Relevant research experience in applied human nutrition.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated potential to develop a competitive, externally funded research program and supervise graduate students.

Experience in developing effective teaching programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The department currently has 20 full-time tenure-track faculty members and 4 instructors. It offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and graduate programs in food science, human nutrition, and dietetics.
