Job Description:

The University of Manitoba, through its Department of Preventive Dental Sciences, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. The position is set to begin on July 1, 2025, or at an agreed-upon date. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

Assistant Professor:

• Teach orthodontics at the undergraduate, IDDP, and graduate levels.

• Lead the undergraduate orthodontics program.

• Engage in research and clinical orthodontic care.

• Provide community service in orthodontics.

• Participate in emergency orthodontic care.

Associate Professor:

• Teaching experience at the graduate level.

• Expertise in research and student supervision.

• Strong research portfolio, including peer-reviewed publications and grants obtained.

Requirements:

• Specialized training in orthodontics with at least two years of clinical experience.

• Experience teaching orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at the undergraduate level.

• Certification by the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC) and the National Dental Specialty Examination (NDSE) in orthodontics is preferred.

• A valid permit from the Manitoba Dental Association is required.

Eligibility:

• Candidates must be eligible for licensure with the Manitoba Dental Association.

• Additional experience in biomechanics and orthodontic growth is desirable.
