The Department of English is ranked among the top 30 globally and offers a major and minor in English, as well as graduate programs at the master’s and Ph.D. levels, a second major in Theatre and Dramatic Arts, and a minor in Creative Writing. Our dedicated and experienced faculty members have a broad range of research and teaching expertise, including a specialization in modern and contemporary literature. The department encourages innovative thinking, free expression, and lively debates, fostering a diverse range of approaches to literary studies in a spirit of intellectual discovery.
We offer a dynamic environment conducive to innovation and creative exploration in theatre and dramatic arts, enhanced by our state-of-the-art “black box” theatre for experimental and performance-based work, along with opportunities for collaboration with guest artists and theatre companies. Our innovative second major in Theatre and Dramatic Arts provides students with an in-depth understanding of the history, theory, and practice of theatre while fostering critical and creative engagement with literary and dramatic performance.
Position: Assistant Professor in English (Drama and/or Theatre)
The School of Humanities seeks to fill an Assistant Professor position leading to tenure, specializing in Drama and/or Theatre. Applicants must have prior teaching experience.
Requirements:

A Ph.D. in English, Theatre, Dramatic Arts, or related disciplines.

A strong record or significant potential in research, with a commitment to teaching and academic service.

Selection will be based on evidence of high-level research potential and effective teaching.
