The University of Innsbruck invites applications for a PostDoc career position (full-time, i.e. 40 hours/week) at the Department of Strategic Management, Marketing and Tourism in the area of sustainable branding and consumer culture research. We aim to fill this position at the soonest possible time for six years. A qualification agreement (tenure-track) can be offered.
Main tasks:
- Research in the field of consumer culture theory and sustainable branding.
- Taking an active role in the Brand Research Laboratory, the departmental research center and the research platform Organizations & Society is expected.
- Teaching and mentoring students in English and German language.
- Contributions to the University self-administration are expected.
Necessary Qualifications:
Completed PhD/doctoral degree in Business Management or equivalent.
- Excellent knowledge and research in branding and consumer culture theory.
- PostDoc experience and and academic achievements beyond the dissertation/PhD thesis in this field.
- Highly elaborated knowledge in research methods, particularly in qualitative-interpretive empirical research.
- Excellent teaching experiences in the field of branding and consumer culture theory.
- Experience in successful third party funding and in academic mobility.
- International academic network in the field of branding and consumer culture theory.
- Collaboration and interdisciplinary communication skills to facilitate international research cooperation.
- Ability to facilitate dialogue and cooperation between science and professional practice.
- Excellent English language skills.
- Successful applicants are expected to become proficient in the German language at the level of teaching in the BSc program in due time.
Applications have to include a research agenda and teaching concept. In this position, you will have the opportunity to carry out high-level research and to specialize in a particular field. You will hold your own lectures, tutor students and participate in administration. During the first year of employment, it is possible to conclude a “qualification agreement” which is the core part of a University career position leading to a tenure position. If the terms of the qualification agreement are fulfilled it will lead to tenure and promotion to a permanent position of an Associate Professor at the University.
