The Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Migration and Integration at Ryerson University invites applications of interest from post-doctoral and more senior Research Fellows who work in the wider field of Migrant Settlement and Integration with a focus on Canada or more broadly North America. The CERC offers an opportunity to pursue new research, develop leadership potential, and collaborate internationally working as part of a research team, headed by Professor Anna Triandafyllidou, Canada Excellence Research Chair in Migration and Integration, at Ryerson University.
The CERC program is a Tri-agency initiative of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and is administered by the Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat (TIPS).
The successful Research Fellow will begin residency at Ryerson in Toronto, Canada, as early as October 2020 for a period of two years.
Qualifications and experience:
Applicants must hold a PhD, have excellent knowledge of social or economic perspectives on settlement and integration with a focus on Canada; and be prepared to design and implement a research agenda on the topics outlined here: https://www.ryerson.ca/cerc-migration/research/comparative-perspectives/
Expertise in one of the following areas: lived experience of integration, labour market integration, civic participation, and assessment of settlement policy outcomes, is particularly welcome
Previous experience in project management, facilitating collaborative research networks and relations with community stakeholders and policy-makers will be an asset.
