The Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences, Foundation of Research and Technology – Hellas, (FORTH/ICE- HT) is seeking applicants for one position of a postdoctoral / research assignment to conduct research in the context of the research project “Strategies for health protection, pollution Control and Elimination of Next generAtion RefractIve Organic chemicals from the Soil, vadose zone and water, acronym “SCENARIOS” “Grant Agreement number: 101037509 — SCENARIOS — H2020-LC-GD-2020 / H2020-LC-GD-2020-3”, which is implemented under the H2020 Research and Innovation Action.
Job Description
To conduct research under a work or an employment contract in the framework of the aforementioned project “SCENARIOS”. The main objective of the specific part of SCENARIOS is to: (i) develop transport models and numerical codes at mesoscopic and macroscopic scale to predict the fate of Per- and poly Fluoro Alkyl Substances (PFAS) in unsaturated and saturated zones of sites; (ii) use the numerical models for optimizing the in-situ remediation strategy of PFAS contaminated sites
Location: FORTH/ICE-HT, Patras, Greece
Duration: up to 12 months, with the potential of renewal or extension according to the needs of the project
Salary: depending on qualifications, up to the amount of the approved project budget.
Envisaged starting date: 1/3/2022
Requirements and Qualifications
- Master degree in Physics / Chemistry
- The candidate is required to hold a PhD in Physics / Chemistry
- Proven participation in research projects funded by the EC or the State
- Relevant publications in international peer-reviewed journals
- Proven experience in advanced synthetic procedures
- Good knowledge of the Greek and English language
