Position Description

Applications are invited for an open-rank tenure-track or tenured position in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources (OBHR) in the Haskayne School of Business. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track), Associate Professor (with tenure), or Full  Professor (with tenure), with preference towards applicants with an academic record and qualifications commensurate with the rank of Assistant Professor with a research focus on leadership and/or “healthy work” (e.g., mental health/psychological well-being at work, workplace mistreatment, work safety). The appointment start date is July 1, 2020 with the option to negotiate a January 1, 2021 start date.

 

Duties include research, teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and professional service for the School, the University, and the community. Salary is competitive and will depend on qualifications, experience, as well as research and teaching record.

 

 

Applicants at the Assistant Professor rank must have completed or be near completion of a doctoral degree, in OBHR or a related field. They will provide evidence of past and/or potential excellence in scholarship, as demonstrated by publications and/or papers under review in FT-50 journals. They will also demonstrate the desire and potential to be a teacher in a professional faculty, as demonstrated by teaching evaluations and references.

 

 

Applicants at the Associate and Full Professor ranks must possess a doctoral degree or equivalent in OBHR or a related field. They must provide evidence of sound scholarship with a number of FT-50 journal publications, evidence of past teaching effectiveness in a professional faculty, and that they are likely to continue to make meaningful contributions to their field, as demonstrated by teaching evaluations and references.

 

 

Faculty in the OBHR area at the Haskayne School of Business are engaged in a range of research topics, including decision-making, diversity, emotions, mental health, motivation, leadership, strategic HR, workplace mistreatment, and workplace safety. We invite applications in any area of expertise within the broad OBHR domain with a preference for leadership and/or “healthy work” (e.g., mental health/psychological well-being at work, workplace mistreatment, work safety).
