Professor of Artificial Intelligence

The candidate will be expected to represent the subject area of artificial intelligence in the Department with his/her teaching and applied research. Profound knowledge in the fields of artificial intelligence and mathematics are required. Suitable candidates must be able to demonstrate their expertise in current methods of artificial intelligence in both research and practice.
The teaching responsibilities in the Department’s bachelor’s and master’s degree programs comprise modules in the field of artificial intelligence, modules in mathematics, such as stochastics and mathematics for data science, as well as teaching foundation courses, such as programming for data science. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the supervision of student projects and theses and needs to have a highly-developed pedagogical aptitude offering module courses which include authentic and practical applications. Students attending the successful candidate’s classes should benefit from his/her proven practical experience. German and English are the languages of instruction in the Department.
The incumbent is furthermore expected to contribute to developing the Department’s bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, show readiness to furthering interdisciplinary cooperation – including intra-institutional cooperation on a departmental level – and participate in collaborative academic self-administration (akademische Selbstverwaltung).
The Department provides modern technical facilities that focus on teaching and applied research. The candidate is expected to show a proactive and innovative commitment and contribute to promoting and advancing cooperation with our national and international partners.

The conditions for employment are governed by Article 35 Hochschulgesetz Land Sachsen-Anhalt (HSG LSA). According to Article 17 of the Constitution of Anhalt University (Grundordnung der Hochschule Anhalt), in conjunction with Article 38 HSG LSA, any first appointment as a professor is generally probationary. The salary is paid in line with legal and budgetary conditions.
