The University of Education Freiburg is a tertiary institution with university status. Approximately 5,100 students are trained in Bachelor and Master courses of study in Educational Science as well as for the teaching profession at elementary, secondary and vocational schools and for the higher teaching profession at vocational schools.
At the Institute for Everyday Culture, Physical Activity and Health, Department of Sports Science the following vacancy is to be filled on 1st October 2020:
Professorship (W1 with tenure track according to W3) for Sports and Sports Didactics (f/m/d)

This professorship is funded by the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States.
The future holder of the position should represent Sports Didactics in conjunction with a natural or social science focus in research and teaching.
Tasks:
The teaching load of the tenure-track professorship comprises 4 SWS, after a positive interim evaluation 6 SWS (W1).
– seminars are to be offered in all teacher training courses as well as in adjoining BA and MA programs,
– practical supervision of student teachers,
– independent research,
– independent acquisition of third-party funds,
– examination activities and participation in academic administrative tasks.
Conditions of employment:
– special aptitude for academic work, which is usually demonstrated by the outstanding quality of a relevant doctorate,
– pedagogical aptitude, e.g. proven by completed Sports Science studies and practical school experience,
– if the candidate has been employed as an academic assistant or academic staff member before or after the doctorate, the total duration of the doctoral and employment phases should not exceed 6 years.
Furthermore, an interest in research and teaching in the fields of Gender, Inclusion as well as Media Didactics and the willingness to work together on an interdisciplinary basis are desired.
The tenure-track professorship is initially limited to four years and can be extended by two years if the evaluation is positive. In the event of probation, the tenure-track professor will be appointed to a professorship (W3). The requirements for determining the necessary suitability, qualification and professional performance as well as the procedure for doing so result from the statutes of the University of Education Freiburg outlining the appointment of junior professors, the interim evaluation, the extension of the employment contract and the tenure track procedure (quality assurance concept) in the 11 July 2017 version (see http://yourls.ph-freiburg.de/6v).
