Le Département des sciences de la santé communautaire à l’École Cumming de médecine à l’ Université de Calgary, en partenariat avec l’ Institut O’Brien pour la santé publique, est sollicite des candidatures pour une tenure-track position à l’ adjoint Professeur niveau, dans le domaine de biostatistique .

Les qualifications requises sont un récent diplôme de recherche avancée, doctorat ou équivalent en B iostatistics / Statistiques , avec l’ application aux services de santé et / ou la recherche épidémiologique, et au moins 1 -3 années d’ enseignement / recherche d’ expérience au – delà du doctorat degré . Un dossier d’ excellence prouvé , tel que démontré par des publications savantes et la capacité de concourir avec succès pour un financement externe , est requis . Le candidat retenu devrait avoir une expérience en enseignement au premier cycle et / ou aux cycles supérieurs et une expertise en recherche dans les domaines de la biostatistique, ainsi que la capacité de collaborer activement et de fournir une expertise statistique aux chercheurs en médecine et en santé de l’Université de Calgary.

Ce poste offre une excellente occasion de développer un programme de recherche vigoureux et indépendant à financement externe en biostatistique dans un environnement dynamique, collaboratif et multidisciplinaire. Le poste prévoit les allocations de temps suivantes: 50 % pour la recherche, 40% pour l’enseignement dans les programmes de formation de premier cycle / cycles supérieurs du Département des sciences de la santé communautaire et 10% pour les tâches liées à l’administration et aux services. On s’attendra également à ce que le candidat retenu demande et obtienne avec succès le soutien extra-muros des agences nationales / provinciales pour les fonds de fonctionnement pour soutenir un programme de recherche, y compris la supervision des étudiants diplômés et du personnel hautement qualifié (par exemple, les stagiaires postdoctoraux) .

Position Description

The Department of Community Health Sciences in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary, in partnership with the O’Brien Institute for Public Health, is inviting applications for a tenure-track position, at the Assistant Professor level, in the field of biostatistics.

Qualifications include a recent advanced research degree, PhD or equivalent in Biostatistics/Statistics, with application to Health Services and/or Epidemiological Research, and at least 1-3 years of teaching/research experience beyond the PhD degree. A proven record of excellence, as demonstrated by scholarly publications and the ability to compete successfully for external funding, is required. The successful candidate is expected to have teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level and research expertise in areas of Biostatistics, as well as the ability to actively collaborate with and provide statistical expertise to medical and health researchers at the University of Calgary.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop a vigorous and independent externally-funded research program in Biostatistics within a dynamic, collaborative and multidisciplinary environment. The position provides the following time allocations: 50% for research, 40% for teaching in the undergraduate/graduate training programs in the Department of Community Health Sciences, and 10% for administration/service related tasks. The successful candidate will also be expected to apply for and successfully obtain extramural support from national/provincial agencies for operating funds to sustain a research program, including supervision of graduate students and highly qualified personnel (e.g., postdoctoral fellows).

The successful candidate will join the Department of Community Health Sciences in the Cumming School of Medicine, in close proximity to other investigators with similar interests.
