The Medical Faculty of the University of Basel invites applications to fill the position of Professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology

A professorship in Anatomy and Cell Biology will become vacant in August 2024. The professorship is integrated into the Department of Biomedicine of the University of Basel, uniting basic and translational laboratory research across biomedical disciplines and in direct connection with the University Hospitals of Basel.

Your activities will include leading a research group at the Department of Biomedicine and teach within the faculty of medicine of the University of Basel. You will conduct internationally competitive research preferably in the field of developmental biology, stem cell biology or tissue regeneration using model systems relevant for human biology or disease. You are expected to attract competitive research funding and contribute with excellent publications to the field. You will perform internationally outstanding research together with the Department of Biomedicine and additional research institutions within the University of Basel and beyond. You are expected to contribute to teaching in the field of Anatomy, and play an active role in the promotion of young scientists.
You hold a MD, MD/PhD, or PhD title. You have experience and a very good track record in leading your own research group and are a recognized leader with high quality publications in your research field. You are an integrative and collaborative personality with dedication to promote young scientists.
