Job Summary
The D. Abbott Turner College of Business & Technology seeks qualified candidates for a tenure track position in Computer Science at the TSYS School of Computer Science beginning August 2024. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in any of the following areas: AI and Machine Learning, Computer Games, Data Science and Cloud Computing.
Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and delivering courses and programs in Computer Science in one or more of the following areas: Software Development, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Data Science, Cybersecurity and Enterprise (mainframe) Computing. Duties will include teaching Computer Science classes, carrying out research for professional development, publishing scholarly articles and applying for grants to enhance the University’s reputation, and performing service at the Department, College and University levels including student advising and mentoring, and serving in committees.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess an earned doctorate in Computer Science or related field from a fully accredited institution, but ABD candidates with documentation of degree completion prior to June 2024 will be considered. Candidates must show evidence of teaching success and potential to maintain an active research agenda. Candidates are expected to demonstrate that they are staying up to date with advances in technology and industry trends. Candidates must be committed to advising and mentoring students, quality teaching, and continued instructional and scholarly development. The candidate must support a strong commitment to practices that support the University’s focus on student engagement, problem-solving, and active learning.
Proposed Salary
The annualized salary for this position is $90,000.
