L'École de santé et de performance humaine de la Faculté de santé de Dalhousie lance un appel à candidatures auprès de candidats qualifiés pour un poste de professeur d'un an (avec possibilité de renouvellement) au rang d'instructeur à compter du 1er juillet 2024. L' Université Dalhousie compte 6 000 professeurs et employés parmi ses 13 Facultés. Les inscriptions actuelles sont de 18 500 étudiants diplômés et de premier cycle. En tant que membre du groupe à forte intensité de recherche U15 du Canada, l'Université Dalhousie est un moteur influent du développement intellectuel, social et économique de la région. Le candidat retenu devra enseigner six à huit cours correspondant à un domaine d'expertise démontré et aux besoins d'enseignement des programmes de promotion de la santé BSc et MA (p. ex., politique de promotion de la santé, stratégies de promotion de la santé, santé scolaire globale et recherche appliquée). . Le candidat retenu devra également soutenir l'élaboration et les révisions des programmes d'études dans le cadre des programmes de promotion de la santé de BSc et de MA alors que le corps professoral travaille à la mise en œuvre d'un programme révisé. Une expérience dans la conception et l’élaboration de programmes d’études est un atout. Le candidat retenu sera de préférence titulaire d'une maîtrise en promotion de la santé ou dans une discipline liée à la santé telle que la sociologie, la santé publique, l'éducation ou la psychologie. Une expertise des déterminants sociaux et/ou structurels de la santé et de l’équité en santé ainsi que des stratégies pédagogiques innovantes serait un atout. Une expérience dans la conception de programmes d'études éclairés par des pédagogies culturellement diverses (p. ex. Mi'kmaq, Afro-Néo-Écossais, etc.) est également un atout. Les candidats doivent démontrer de solides compétences pédagogiques, organisationnelles et efficaces en matière de relations interpersonnelles et de communication. Le candidat retenu doit être prêt à travailler individuellement, avec les professeurs, le personnel, les assistants d'enseignement et les étudiants pour développer et améliorer la prestation des programmes de premier cycle et des cycles supérieurs en promotion de la santé. A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Petra Levin in the Department of Biology on the Danforth Campus at Washington University. The Levin lab studies the impact of the environment on bacterial growth, cell size, cell cycle progression and antibiotic resistance. This position will provide an excellent opportunity for the successful candidates to perform studies on both non-pathogenic and pathogenic bacteria, develop skills in bacterial genetics and imaging, and answer fundamental questions in microbiology. Required Qualifications

Les simulations de dynamique des fluides jouent désormais un rôle crucial dans l'industrie de l'énergie et des transports, avec l'ambition de prédire avec précision les quantités d'intérêt technique pour les écoulements turbulents se développant à l'intérieur ou au-dessus d'objets réels à grande échelle. La clé du succès réside dans le développement de simulations haute fidélité basées sur des méthodes et des algorithmes de discrétisation précis et efficaces fonctionnant dans le cadre HPC. Ceci est requis par les plusieurs millions de degrés de liberté induits par la très large gamme d'échelles spatio-temporelles ainsi que par la géométrie complexe à discrétiser.
Les propriétés intrinsèques de la méthode Lattice Boltzman couplée à la méthode des frontières immergées présentent un grand potentiel pour prédire des écoulements complexes dans des conditions réalistes. Ceci est déjà démontré par les simulations réussies réalisées par l’équipe M2P2 pour des configurations industrielles grandeur nature. Cependant, certains problèmes clés ont été clairement identifiés pour améliorer la fiabilité et la précision de telles simulations avec le LBM et la méthode des limites immergées, en particulier pour les écoulements avec des effets de compressibilité qui peuvent être induits à la fois par de fortes variations de température ou de pression. Les turbulences, les écoulements en paroi le long de géométries complexes (non alignées sur la grille), ainsi que la présence de fortes pentes, de discontinuités d'écoulement ou encore de chocs soulèvent plusieurs problématiques de modélisation numérique et physique qui seront abordées dans ce projet de thèse.
Dans ce contexte, ce doctorat de trois ans se concentrera sur la modélisation des parois solides et de la couche limite turbulente, question clé pour prédire avec précision les forces aérodynamiques et le transfert de chaleur. Le doctorat visera à développer des conditions aux limites améliorées sur des murs solides avec une précision physique et une stabilité numérique accrues. Si un schéma efficace de conservation de masse a été récemment proposé par l'équipe pour les écoulements isothermes (Xu et al. PoF 2022), des travaux supplémentaires sont nécessaires pour les écoulements compressibles, notamment lorsque des discontinuités sont présentes à proximité de la paroi (par exemple choc ou flamme attachés).
Une partie du travail sera également consacrée à la prévision des flux thermiques et à une estimation précise de la distribution des nombres de Nusselt, traitant à la fois de la modélisation des flux thermiques turbulents et des améliorations numériques permettant d'amortir les ondulations parasites sur les quantités de fluide le long de géométries complexes non-turbulentes. aligné avec le maillage.

Une étude d'un corpus textuel permettant d'interroger le rapport entre texte et image : romans illustrés, écrits sur l'art, le théâtre et l'iconographie dramatique, etc. Le candidat devra expliquer la méthodologie qu'il entend utiliser pour développer cette investigation, et les questions historiques, sémiologiques et éventuellement politiques qu'il entend aborder.
2. L'étude d'un corpus iconographique lié au corpus textuel, et destiné à enrichir ou compléter un corpus existant au sein de la base de données Utpictura18. Le projet indiquera ce qui est déjà dans la base de données, ce que nous proposons d'ajouter et quelles collections documentaires et patrimoniales seront exploitées.
3. Une proposition de valorisation et de diffusion de ce travail à l'aide des outils développés par Utpictura18 : réalisation d'un dossier pédagogique, publication d'un texte illustré pour la Bibliothèque Utpictura18, réalisation d'une exposition virtuelle pour la Galerie Utpictura18, en partenariat avec un musée, bibliothèque ou autre institution culturelle.

Although new therapies work for some patients, there are many that do not respond or become resistant to treatment. In this project you will explore protein ubiquitination (a mechanism that regulates protein activity within the cell) and identify potential new therapeutic targets.
The scholarship is funded by the Lions Cancer Institute (founded in 1989), who have a long-standing commitment to skin cancer screening and research in Western Australia. With this scholarship, the Lions Cancer Institute will support an HDR student to undertake melanoma research.

The Department of Education is committed to creating culturally responsive environments that build on the strength of Aboriginal students, engage them in learning and enable them to thrive academically and socially. A key part of achieving this is increasing the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people teaching in secondary schools.
The Bob Hawke Aboriginal teacher scholarships are named in honour of Bob Hawke’s lifelong support of Indigenous rights and his vision of a fair and inclusive Australia.

An undergraduate scholarship valued at up to $30,000 including:
- A total of $28,000 to support you to complete a Bachelor of Education (Secondary). This will be an amount of $7,000 for each year of full‑time study, or equivalent.

A postgraduate scholarship valued at up to $16,000 including:

In order to be considered for the scholarships, you must:
- Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and reside in Western Australia
- Not already be in receipt of a tertiary scholarship or other financial assistance for the purposes of study from the Department of Education
- Confirm that you express an interest in working as a secondary teacher in a Western Australian public school, upon completion of the teaching qualification
- Not already be a qualified secondary teacher
- Confirm and provide proof you either:
- Intend to enrol in an accredited secondary teaching qualification at a recognised Australian tertiary institution by closure of 2024 enrolments
- Are enrolled in an accredited secondary teaching qualification at a recognised Australian tertiary institution, and have completed no more than one year of full time study towards that qualification.
