2 Post-Doctoral Researchers (F/M/D) – Economics

The University of Cologne is one of the largest and most research-intensive universities in Germany, offering a wide range of subjects. The positions are part of the Cluster of Excellence “ECONtribute: Markets & Public Policy”, run jointly by the Universities of Bonn and Cologne and funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) in the context of the Excellence Strategy. The Cluster‘s goal is to advance the understanding of market functioning and failures as well as public policy responses.

YOUR TASKS

  • We are looking for a highly motivated scholar to conduct research related to the Cluster‘s research agenda (see https://selten.institute/econtribute/).
  • The Postdoctoral Researcher is expected to teach in programs of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences in English or German language.
  • Teaching can flexibly be arranged depending on experience.

YOUR PROFILE

  • PhD in economics or other related discipline (or close to completion)
  • Proven ability to contribute to the research areas of Cluster (see https://selten.institute/econtribute/).
  • Publishing record or evidence of potential to publish in international peer-reviewed economic journals
  • Capability to teach courses in economics, management, and/ or political science programs
  • Excellent communication skills in English

The position is available from now on a full-time basis. It is limited to 2 years with possibility of extension to 5 years. If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary is based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
