The Collegium Helveticum is pleased to announce a Call for eight Junior Fellowships within its interdisciplinary fellowship progamme.The fellowships start 1 September 2022 and will last for ten months. The application deadline is 7 March 2022 (23:59 CET).
Project background
Located in the historic Semper Observatory, the Collegium Helveticum offers academics and artists a highly international, interdisciplinary environment. The fellowship programme is based on Senior, Junior and Associated Fellows and seeks to promote exchange and collaboration across disciplinary boundaries. The Collegium’s rooms and its interdisciplinary format offer ideal conditions for a thriving culture of dialogue and a creative environment for innovative academic and artistic projects. As the joint Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS) of the ETH Zurich, the University of Zurich and Zurich University of the Arts, the Collegium profits from its outstanding integration into the innovative ecosystem of Zurich’s distinguished universities.
Job description
The Junior Fellowship programme aims to attract promising early-career researchers as well as artists working in any disciplines in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering and technology, medicine or the arts (fine arts, music, design, performing arts, film).
The fellowship year runs from 1 September 2022 to 30 June 2023. Junior Fellows receive a grant in the form of a full-salaried post at ETH Zurich for the duration of the fellowship. Applicants need to have a confirmed doctorate in an academic discipline or a master’s degree from an art school. The degree should not be older than 5 years at the time when the Fellowship begins. Junior Fellows are required to be present at the Collegium on weekdays.
Applicants need to submit a short description of the project and an event they are planning to carry out during the ten-month fellowship. Furthermore, a letter of support from a professor at ETH Zurich, the University of Zurich or Zurich University of the Arts is required, whose work is relevant to the proposed fellowship project and who agrees to engage as an Associated Fellow.
