We are pleased to announce this call for applications for the AGNES-BAYER Fellowship for Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Agriculture in Sub-Saharan Africa. This grant is financed by the BAYER Foundation with the support of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) and the Federal Republic of Germany.
The grant is intended for young researchers at Master’s level (doctoral students) and aims to strengthen their scientific capacity in Africa.
ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Only direct applications from young researchers with at least one previously published article (in a non-predatory journal) will be considered for the grant. The candidate must be in the field of biodiversity conservation and/or sustainable agriculture .
The candidate must be officially registered in a doctoral thesis in a university in sub-Saharan Africa and must be from a country in sub-Saharan Africa . Applicants should clearly demonstrate that the research project to be carried out is relevant to the development of Sub-Saharan African countries.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
All applications must be submitted online before August 30, 2023 at 00.00 GMT. All applications that do not comply with the guidelines indicated or for which a single required document is missing will be automatically rejected. Late applications will not be accepted.
SELECTION COMMITTEE MEETING
The selection meeting will take place in October 2023 and only selected candidates will be informed. Research activities will begin no earlier than December 1 and no later than February 29, 2024.
