CALL FOR “GUEST SCIENTIFIC” APPLICATIONS University of Montpellier

This hosting system allows foreign researchers of international renown, whose research project cuts across, in a transversal and innovative way, the three privileged fields of action of the  Montpellier Advanced Knowledge Institute on Transitions  (MAK’IT) – agriculture & food , environment, health – and contributes to its mission to analyze, support and accelerate transitions towards sustainable development, to come and stay, between 3 and 12 months, within a research structure of the consortium of l Montpellier University of Excellence (MUSE) initiative of their choice.

Co-funded by the host research structure and MAK’IT, this system offers researchers a privileged working environment to develop their ideas in an open-plan manner within a world-renowned scientific community. The medjouel.com team informs you that MAK’IT organizes regular exchanges between the different resident researchers in order to bring them to develop innovative interdisciplinary perspectives, breaking with academic routines and turned towards the implementation of development objectives sustainable (SDG). The researchers hosted by MAK’IT are also actively encouraged and supported in their efforts to create new connections and develop new collaborations with the Montpellier scientific community.

Who can apply?

Nationality  : researchers of all nationalities, who have not resided in France for more than 12 months in the three years preceding the call for applications.

Tax residence  : the candidate must have a tax residence abroad.

Level of study : candidates must hold a doctorate or equivalent and must demonstrate, on the date of their arrival, at least 10 years of experience in research after obtaining their doctorate or equivalent.

Professional status  : candidates must have a work contract in a foreign university or research establishment (except French research establishment abroad), or be attached to it through an emeritate, covering the period of their residence. A letter of attachment, signed by the head of the home institution, will be required in case of selection after the evaluation process.

Disciplines  : all disciplines, life sciences, engineering or SHS.

Research  project: the research project of the candidates must be able to be approached via and contribute, in a transverse way, to the three main fields of action of MAK’IT: agriculture & food, environment and health.

Letter of invitation and scientific partnership : applicants must have a letter of invitation and financial commitment from the research structure of the MUSE consortium in which they wish to be hosted. MAK’IT can support candidates in the process of obtaining this invitation letter.

Languages  : fluency in English is required, understanding of French preferable.
