YOUR TASKS

  • You will spend a minimum of 50% of your assignment on scientific research as part of the preparation of a doctoral dissertation. This dissertation is about goal-oriented care for patients with multimorbidity. The exact research topic can be defined in consultation with the candidate.
  • You will provide assistance in teaching the department in the areas of chronic care, family medicine and primary care. Specifically, you will participate in teaching on topics that are consistent with the theme of your PhD (organization of chronic care, goal-oriented care, care for patients with multimorbidity, patient-centered care,…). In addition, as a co-promoter you will also supervise theses around the doctoral theme.
  • You will contribute to the internal and external services of the department

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a Master degree in Science of Family Medicine.  For degrees obtained outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence from NARIC must be presented. Diploma requirements must be met by date of appointment.
  • You are interested in patient-centered care, clinical decision making for patients with multimorbidity, quality of care for patients with chronic conditions, reorganization of care and interprofessional collaboration in healthcare and wellfare.
  • You enjoy working in teams and can work constructively with the various stakeholders in the field of chronic care.
  • You have an interest in participatory action research and realist research.
  • You have an interest in scientific and/or project-based research and service delivery.
  • You have didactic and communicative qualities.
  • As stipulated by the regulations, the half-time mandate will in practice be complemented to a full-time mandate, either with an additional appointment as WP, or by the candidate’s additional employment that contributes to scientific research in the given field

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a two-year appointment, which may be renewed twice for two years, on condition that the previous term was given a positive evaluation. Attention: If you have been previously appointed as a junior assistant or doctoral fellow at a university within the Flemish Community, this appointment will be deducted from the maximum term of appointment, which is six years at the most according to the Codex of Higher Education.

  • Your remuneration will be determined according to salary scale AAP3. More information about our salary scales.
