Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor with the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Immunology in the area of Host- Pathogen Interactions. We are searching for individuals with exceptional promise to develop a vibrant, externally funded research program. While we encourage applications from candidates studying any aspect of Host-Pathogen Interactions that complement and expand upon existing departmental strengths, we are particularly interested in candidates who explore host-pathogen interactions with an immunology perspective. The successful candidate will also show a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, particularly in the area of immunology.
The department has several areas of research strength encompassing structural, genetic, cellular and molecular biological and biochemical investigator-led programs focused on viral and bacterial pathogenesis, cancer biology, immunology and various aspects of metabolism, offering many opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration. Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD degree and post-doctoral experience in a biomedical discipline relevant to the position and a demonstrated ability to conduct original, innovative research. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and show an interest in fostering collaborations with faculty members in the department and elsewhere on campus.
Salary band for this position at the rank of Assistant Professor for the 2021-2022 academic year is $98,178 to $117,978.
