The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is dedicated to advancing the education of exceptionally promising students in financial need. Since 2000, the Foundation has awarded more than $ 222 million in scholarships to more than 2,800 grade 8 graduate students, as well as comprehensive educational advice and other support services. The Foundation has also provided $ 115 million in grants to organizations that serve these students.
Why we exist
STUDIES SHOW:
- High performing students with financial needs often live in isolation.
- High-performing students with financial needs are less likely to take rigorous courses or score well on passing tests.
THESE STUDENTS NEED:
- Be academically challenged and inspired during school, after school and in the summers.
- Information on how to make successful high school and college transitions and how to prepare, identify and apply for competitive colleges.
- Financial resources that allow them to develop their academic and artistic talents.
