Vacancy

The preparation of a doctorate, performance of scientific research, or more concretely:

• You will conduct research in the field of production of heat and electricity from biomass within the research group FLOW/BURN (https://flow.research.vub.be, www.burn-research.be).

• This job also involves some limited teaching assignments: coordinating and supervising exercises within the Bachelor in Engineering (- Architecture) and the Master of Science in Electromechanical Engineering.  The concrete tasks will be defined each year in consultation with you.  Part of these exercises (at Bachelor level) need to be taught in Dutch and part can be taught in English.

• You will take part in actions promoting the teaching programmes proposed by the department (e.g. presence at info days or supervising spring – or autumn boot camps) and will possibly contribute to the daily management of the department by participating in boards and/or commissions.

3 – Job profile

• You have preferably the following diploma: Master of Science in Electromechanical Engineering.
• You have not performed any works in the execution of a mandate as an assistant, paid from operating resources, over a total (cumulated) period of more than 12 months.
• The effective result of the doctorate scholarship is subject to the condition precedent of enrolment of the fellow as a doctorate student at the university.
