The University of Leicester is inviting applications for exceptionally talented and motivated early career researchers to lead highly innovative research projects. These Early Career Researcher (ECR) Fellowship opportunities are funded by Leicester’s British Heart Foundation (BHF) Accelerator Award to enhance research in our priority area of Precision Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease.
Leicester has world-leading academic expertise in several clinical specialities, notably cardiovascular and respiratory disease, diabetes and cancer. We are also a leading UK university for research in the medical and health humanities. The Leicester community’s social and demographic features provide a unique and important opportunity to address key health issues across an ethnically and culturally diverse population.
Through this Fellowship program, we are committed to supporting and mentoring early career researchers to develop into independent principal investigators. Fellows will be supported for up to 12 months (internal candidates) or 24 months (external candidates) (salary, career development and research costs) to establish an original line of research that enhances the strengths of the University and that can be continued by securing additional external funding.
