Eligibility for the Skoltech Scholarship in Russia
To apply for the scholarship from the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants for Master programs must hold an appropriate License or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Applicants for Doctorate programs must have an appropriate Master’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized university.
- Applications are open to national and international students.
- Applicants must be in their last year of undergraduate studies or hold a diploma (license, Master or equivalent) with a good average.
- In addition, a minimum score of 80 on the TOEFL iBT, 450 on the TOEFL ITP or 6 on the IELTS is required. The language certificate must be valid for 2 years after the date of the test. A TOEFL or IELTS score is not required if the candidate has graduated from a university where the language of instruction is English. No exception is made for this policy and only TOEFL and IELTS scores are accepted. Skoltech’s institutional code for the TOEFL iBT is 2909. - Holders of a degree in the humanities or social sciences must have in-depth knowledge in one of the fields of study offered by Skoltech.
NB: Skoltech receives more requests than available places. Therefore, compliance with the minimum admission requirement does not necessarily guarantee admission.
How to Apply for the Skoltech Scholarship in Russia
There is no separate funding request. All students admitted to the Master and PhD are automatically taken into account for funding. Therefore, applicants wishing to benefit from the Skoltech scholarship must follow the steps below to be admitted to Skoltech.
Step 1: registration

Step 2: Submission of the application

The last phase of admission takes place in Moscow. You must take the TOEFL ITP exam on site, or present a valid TOEFL certificate and have an interview in person. Additional written exams may be required for some programs during this period (you will be notified in advance).
