Work plan and objectives
The project Inov-Amendo-AL aims to transfer scientific knowledge to the productive sector of almond culture, in order to validate technologies of propagation and screening for diseases of Prunus dulcis. The work plan consists of the field, laboratory, and office tasks in collaboration with the team of Inov-Amendo-AL project. Such tasks will include:
- Organization and participation in dissemination and demonstration activities;
- Collection of samples and data;
- In vitro e ex-vitro of plant propagation;
- Plant pathology assays;
- Organization of results and statistical analysis of data;
- Publication and dissemination of results, including project reports;
- Organization of results and statistical analysis of data.
Duration
The fellowship will have a duration of 12 months, starting from 1 October 2021, according to FCT Research Grants regulation, I. P.. The contract will not be renewed.
Workplace and Supervision
The work will be carried out at the Centro de Biotecnologia Agrícola e Agro-Alimentar do Alentejo (CEBAl), Rua Pedro Soares, Campus do Instituto Politécnico de Beja, Beja, Portugal (http://www.cebal.pt/).
The work will have the scientific supervision of Liliana Marum.
Application deadline and form of submission of applications
The tender is open from 23.08.2021 to 3.9.2021
It is mandatory to formalize applications with the submission of the following documents:
i) Curriculum Vitae;
ii) Academic degree certificate. Certificate degree duly recognized in Portugal;
iii) Motivation letter;
vi) Declaration on honor that the applicant does not exceed with this contract an accumulated period of two years in this type of studentship, continuously or with interruptions.
Documents proving the awarding of academic degrees and diplomas, or the according to recognition – in cases of academic degrees or diplomas granted by a foreign higher education institution – can be dismissed in the application process, and replaced by the applicant’s declaration of honor, with the verification of said condition taking place during the grant’s hiring stage. The submission of the certificate is mandatory when signing the contract.

Benefits
The scholarship amount is € 1.104,64 corresponding to the monthly compensation stipulated in the FCT table (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores.phtml.en), plus social security (Seguro Social Voluntário), first-level contributions) and personal accidents insurance. The payment will be made by bank transfer.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must comply with the eligibility conditions established in Article 9 of the FCT I.P Research Fellowship Regulation (Regulamento de Bolsas de Investigação da FCT I.P (2019).
Selection process
Selection methods:
The first phase comprises the Curriculum evaluation. The weight of the Curriculum evaluation factors are as follows:
i) Academic Qualifications – 30%
ii) Professional experience – 30%
iii) Experience and profile adequacy regarding the workplan and the project – 40%
The jury may consider the need to conduct an individual interview with the best placed candidates. In this context, the final grade is obtained by the weighted average of:
i) Academic Qualifications – 30%
ii) Experience and profile adequacy regarding the workplan and the project – 40%
iii) Individual interview – 30%

Announcement/ notification of the results:
The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.
If the decision to be taken is unfavorable to the granting of the requested scholarship, the candidates have a period of 10 working days, after the disclosure, to express their opinion, if desired, in a prior hearing, under the terms provided for in the Code of Administrative Procedure.
