The Concordia Presidential Scholarship is the University’s most prestigious undergraduate entrance scholarship that supports international students. Each year, the University welcomes outstanding students from around the world to study, conduct research and innovate in our flourishing institution. This award recognizes international students who demonstrate academic excellence, community leadership and are motivated to make the difference in the global community.
Concordia is seeking nominations from school principals, teachers, or guidance counsellors, who know of exceptional students who plan to attend our school. The award covers all tuition and fees, books, residence, and meal plan fees.
There are up to two Presidential Scholarships available each year for incoming students in any full-time undergraduate degree program.
- Students applying to university for the first time, in their first undergraduate degree program (have no prior university credits)
- Will be studying full-time in a degree program *
- Are international students who will be paying the full international tuition and fee rate
- Will be starting their studies at Concordia University Fall 2022
- Have applied for admission, paid the application fee, and obtained a Concordia student ID number (an 8-digit number, beginning with the number 4)

Nominators must complete the nomination package and send it via email to fundingyoureducation@concordia.ca. This package must be a single PDF file including the following items:
- Completed Nomination Form
- A confidential 500–1000-word limit personal statement on an institution’s letterhead including a signature that demonstrates why the nominator believes the nominated student is the best candidate for the Presidential Scholarship. This statement must outline:
- How long they have known the student
- Their relationship to the student
- Why they believe the student is deserving of this scholarship
- How they feel that this student has expressed community leadership and commitment making a difference in the global community
- How they feel that this scholarship will help the student to pursue their studies and fulfill their personal and academic aspirations.
Should the selection committee recommend the nomination, the nominated candidate will be contacted directly in early February and will be invited to apply. Selections will be made by Concordia’s Undergraduate Scholarships and Awards Committee. Recipients will be notified by email before the end of April 2022.
1. Can I nominate a student that has not applied to Concordia?
Only students who have applied for admission to Concordia will be considered.
2. Where do I get the Concordia Student ID Number?
Once your student has applied for admission and has paid the admission fee, they will obtain a student ID number (8-digit number beginning with a 4)
3. Can the nominator be a family member?
No. A nominator should be someone who has taught or worked with the student and knows them well. It should be someone who can attest to the student’s achievements as a principal, teacher, or guidance counsellor. The nominator should be able to attest to the student’s community involvement and leadership as well as other accolades.
4. I missed the deadline to send the nomination, what should I do?
You can still provide us with your nomination. It will be added to an alternate list and if a spot becomes available the nomination will be reviewed.
5. When will my student be notified?
Selected students will be emailed to apply for the scholarship at the beginning of February.
6. What if my student did not get selected for consideration of the scholarship?
Students who were not selected to apply will be contacted and provided with other resources that they may explore.

8. As a nominator what is the desired format of my personal statement?
