The Physics of Life (PoL) Excellence Postdoctoral Fellowships combine intellectual independence with an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment. At PoL, we aim to unveil the fundamental physical principles underlying the spatiotemporal organization of living matter across scales. Through different research avenues, we combine biological physics and quantitative biology to approach fundamental questions while bridging scales and developing new technologies.
The Physics of Life (PoL) Excellence Postdoctoral Fellowships provide a unique interdisciplinary environment, scientific independence and generous resources to the most outstanding young scientists in the field. Each PoL Excellence Fellow will be able to choose one Core Group and one or multiple Affiliate/Associate Groups of the Cluster of Excellence to perform a collaborative project. In this way Excellence Fellows will benefit from the wide range of expertise in Biological Physics, Quantitative Biology and Computer Science in Dresden, and make sure to have the necessary support to succeed in their project. In addition, PoL Excellence Fellows will also have access to an innovative mentorship program to help them transition to independent group leader positions after their fellowship.
