Postdoctoral Fellow in Computational Mass Spectrometry

The post-doctoral position will be located in the research group of Prof. Kruve and associated with the project ”Quantitative non-targeted screening for understanding mixture toxicity”. The project aims to develop novel machine learning approaches for quantitative non-targeted LC/HRMS screening.

Main responsibilities
The position involves research machine learning algorithms for LC/HRMS. This includes modelling of fragmentation pattern and ion mobility data as well as ionization behaviour, including adduct formation and ionization efficiency.

Qualification requirements
The post-doctoral researcher is appointed primarily for purposes of research and must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.

Assessment criteria
The degree should have been completed no more than three years before the deadline for applications. An older degree may be acceptable under special circumstances, which may involve sick leave, parental leave, clinical attachment, elected positions in trade unions, or similar.

Previous experiences in computational mass spectrometry, chemoinformatics, bioinformatics or similar are required. Proficiency in developing machine learning algorithms for regression, classification and clustering is required. Experiences with R language is expected and the ability for engineering machine learn algorithms is valued. In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills in machine learning and technical skills in code writing. Candidates with knowledge in engineering of machine learning algorithms are especially appreciated.

Terms of employment
The position involves full-time employment for a maximum of two years, with the possibility of extension. Start date 1st of May or as per agreement.
