The Boston University Pulmonary Center, Bosmann Lab is recruiting Postdoctoral Fellows for experimental projects on infection-associated immunology, and in particular SARS-CoV-2 lung infection.
Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and sepsis are life-threatening complications of pneumonia with profound disturbances of the immune system. COVID-19 related ARDS and sepsis are major causes of mortality in light of the ongoing pandemic and public health crisis.
We are looking for highly motivated, independent Postdoctoral Fellows to promote our experimental and translational research using human transgenic animal models and iPS-derived human alveolar epithelial cells. Special areas of interest are host-pathogen interactions, macrophages, neutrophils, cytokines, complement, coagulation, and signaling pathways.
BSL-3 and BSL-4 facilities will be available in collaboration with the National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories (NEIDL).
New graduates and experienced researchers with a strong record of publications are welcome to apply. An MD, PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant field is required and a strong background in Immunology, Virology and/or Molecular Biology is preferred. The ability in initiating, conducting, evaluating and reporting of research studies is essential. Funds available include slots for US citizens / Resident Aliens on a T32 grant and affiliation to the Immunology Training Program.
