At Huron, we’re proud of what our students accomplish and we are committed to rewarding academic excellence and community service. Scholarships are renewable during every year at Huron provided the student maintains a minimum average of 80% on 5.0 courses during the regular academic term. The below scholarships are for International Students who will be studying at Huron on a student Visa. International students with strong entrance averages will automatically be assessed for scholarships valued between $4,000 to $60,000 over four years ($1,000 to $15,000 per year), based on their academic results.
No supplemental application is required for this scholarship, you will automatically be assessed for International Entrance Scholarships during the application process to any Huron program and any scholarships awarded will be stated on your Offer of Admission letter.
After receiving an Offer of Admission, international students can also submit an optional supplemental application form to demonstrate leadership, community involvement, and extra-curricular achievement, to be considered for an increased International Entrance Scholarship. International students can also be considered for further scholarships based on financial need, by completing the Huron International Financial Aid form (HIFAF).
Huron awards up to ten International Presidential Scholarships worth $100,000 over four years ($25,000 per year) to entering international students who meet the following criteria:
- Academic excellence with a mid-year average of 90% or higher on Huron’s grading scale.
- Exceptional record of extra curricular and community involvement, as well as a demonstrated passion to positively contribute to global society.
How to Apply to the International Presidential Scholarship:
Step 1 – Apply to Huron
Submit an application to a Huron program for September 2022.
Step 2 – Nomination
In order to be considered for the International Presidential Scholarship a school nomination is required. Huron’s School Nomination Form is available below. The School Nomination Form must be sent directly to Huron’s Admissions Office from the nominee’s email address.
Step 3 – Complete the International Presidential Scholarship Application
Please complete the application below and submit it via email to Meklit Haile at mhaile2@huron.uwo.ca with the subject line “International Presidential Scholarship Application”.

All components of the International Presidential Scholarship application must be received by Huron before February 11, 2022.
Your application will be assessed based on a holistic evaluation of your academic results, school nomination, resume and statement of purpose. The committee will review all submissions and short-listed candidates will then be invited for a video interview.
TWO AVAILABLE: Two, two-year renewable scholarships are awarded annually, one each to a male and female full-time Huron student who is registered on a Western Varsity Athletic team.
Value: Up to $4,500 per year
Eligibility: This scholarship competition is open to all full-time Huron students who are registered on a Western Varsity Athletic team.
Incoming first-year students must be entering a full-time program at Huron (5.0 courses taken during the regular academic year – September to April); have achieved a Grade 12 final average of 80.0% or better; and be registered on a university-level, intercollegiate athletic team at Western University.
