Disguised as a woman, to take the place of his friend in the bac, a young Senegalese is sentenced to prison.
In order to help his girlfriend, a Senegalese student is accused of disguising himself as a woman in order to take the baccalaureate in her place. The court sentenced him to one month in prison.
The Senegalese student was unmasked and arrested for trying to take the place of a friend during the baccalaureate exams. A Senegalese court imposed one month in prison, including seven days, on the two young people. The prosecutor had required a month firm against the two defendants judged in flagrante delicto in Diourbel (center) for fraud in examinations and complicity, told AFP one of their lawyers, Me Assane Dioma Ndiaye.
The young man wore a red dress, with the matching veil
The student Khadim Mboup, enrolled in a university in the north, and Gangué Mboup, are in their twenties, according to the Senegalese press. Senegalese media reported that the student said he acted “out of love” due to his “girlfriend” struggling in English. But the defendants at the bar denied the existence of such a relationship, reported Me Ndiaye. Gangué Mboup claimed to have asked for the help of a friend to take the test because she was ill, he said.
The young man was caught on July 31, on the third day of the bac, during the English test; according to the press, the guards noticed that something was wrong with her outfit. Photos posted on social media show him wearing a black patterned red dress, wearing a veil in the same colors and a black shawl.
Police arrested him the same day, along with his girlfriend, who was waiting for him at a hostel in the city, according to media reports. Indicted, they were placed under committal pending trial. They should be released from prison early next week, Ndiaye said.
