JOB DESCRIPTION

Aalto University is a community of bold thinkers where science and art meet technology and business. We are committed to identifying and solving grand societal challenges and building an innovative future. Aalto University has six schools with nearly 11 000 students and nearly 400 professors. Our campus is located in Espoo, Finland.

The Applied Mathematics Research Group in the Department of Mathematics and Systems Analysis at the School of Science is seeking for a

The main goal of the project is to perform further research on some recently introduced centrality measures based on the combinatorics of non-backtracking and more generally non-cycling walks in a graph. The project will include the study of potential applications of centrality measures to various disciplines such as biology, economics and finance, and the candidate is expected to also coordinate with international researchers in these disciplines.

The candidate will start in September 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Candidates interested in more details about the project are welcome to contact Prof. Vanni Noferini, firstname.lastname@aalto.fi
