Ph.D. AND POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS AND GRANTS AT THE EMBRAER/FAPESP/ITA/UNICAMP/EESC ENGINEERING RESEARCH CENTER FOR THE AERIAL MOBILITY OF THE FUTURE (FLYMOV)

The Engineering Research Center for the Aerial Mobility of the Future FLYMOV), located in São José dos Campos, Brazil, is pleased to welcome applications for Ph.D. and postdoctoral grants available for integration of highly talented and motivated young researchers to its research teams.

FLYMOV is jointly funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and Embraer, the third largest aircraft manufacturer in the world. It is conceived as a world-class research center, uniting Embraer as a high-technology, innovative company, and teams of distinguished researchers from three important Brazilian academic institutions, namely, the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), the University of Campinas (Unicamp) and the São Carlos School of Engineering (EESC-USP).

FLYMOV is committed to providing adequate scientific environment and research infrastructure for long-term, far-reaching investigations on topics considered crucial for the shaping of aerial mobility in the next decades.

The research activities are oriented towards the following research lines, across which the available positions are distributed:

  1. Machine control for electric propulsion (MCEP)
  2. Aero-propulsion integration in electric aircraft (APIE)
  3. Methods for decision making in autonomous systems (DMAS)
  4. Advanced design for metallic additive manufacturing (ADAM)
  5. Intelligent aircraft final assembly (IAFA)

The post-doctorate grants can be implemented any time from October 1, 2023, while doctorate scholarships shall be implemented from February 2024 on, upon admission of the selected candidates in one of the ITA, Unicamp or EESC graduate programs.

The scholarship monthly stipends and associated benefits are established by FAPESP (https://fapesp.br/valores/bolsasnopais). Additional benefits provided by ITA and Embraer are possible.

Detailed research topics and conditions applicable to each grant available, as well as instructions for applications, can be found on the FLYMOV website at https://www.flymov.com.br/.
