FUNCTIONS
The successful candidate will have to exercise dynamically and creatively the basic functions associated with this position. In particular, it should:

  • Develop, teach and coordinate undergraduate courses in computer engineering and software engineering;
  • Propose and supervise projects integrating bachelor’s programs in computer engineering and software engineering;
  • Participate in the organization of computer engineering and software engineering programs, among others via the departmental programs committee;
  • Initiate and contribute to the development of educational innovations;
  • Participate in the development of links with institutional and industrial partners in order to ensure the relevance of courses and integrative projects in computer engineering and software engineering;
  • Contribute to various administrative functions of Polytechnique in relation to its expertise and qualifications;
  • Participate in functions of service to the academic and professional community, and to society.

Teachers have spaces, technical support, up-to-date IT environments and funds to support their teaching activities.

FIELDS OF COMPETENCY
The department is looking for a versatile teacher capable of contributing to the teaching of the four (4) years of the bachelor’s programs in computer engineering and software engineering. The person sought could thus teach several different courses, among others among the following: software analysis and design, web application development methodology and design, software engineering processes, operating systems, software testing and validation methods, artificial intelligence, integrative projects, and other courses in computer engineering and software engineering.

STARTING DATE  : Summer 2022.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
The candidate will have demonstrated significant expertise in computer engineering or software engineering, preferably including three (3) years or more of industrial experience. She holds a master’s or a Ph.D. in computer engineering, software engineering or a related discipline. She has great pedagogical qualities, preferably evidenced by previous experience in university teaching and supported by excellent teaching evaluations.

As the language of instruction at Polytechnique is French, the person sought must have a very good command of oral and written French when taking up the post. She should also be registered with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec as an engineer when she takes up her post.

WORKING CONDITIONS
