Senior Account Manager, Springer Healthcare (IME) Location: London Closing date: August 21st 2021

Springer Healthcare IME is the independent medical education unit of Springer Healthcare, part of Springer Nature. The IME team design, produce and publish independent medical education content and pride itself on producing innovative, unbiased, engaging programs in a variety of formats, across a wide range of therapeutic topics, always to the highest scientific standards. The team require a Senior Account Manager, responsible for managing elements of Springer Healthcare IMEs’ independent medical education project delivery, where allocated, and overseeing these through to completion on time and on budget. You also line-manage a direct report in the project delivery team.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Project Services • Manage a portfolio of Independent Medical Education projects ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within budget • Organize and run Independent Medical Education events and activities (conferences; symposia; webinars; digital eLearning modules and workshops, attending onsite as may be required • Arranging technical and content rehearsals, overseeing accreditation processes • Website content development, and promotional campaign and branding oversight. • Drive the day-to-day project management of assigned live projects, and be the first port of call for queries during the project’s lifecycle by external and internal contributors • Maintain comprehensive/up-to-date progress tracking for all assigned live projects on monday.com with scheduled tasks and delivery dates • Input into and approve SOPs that are created by the IME Project team. Communicate these to the team and educate where appropriate • Ensure the delivery and fulfilment of all event materials relating to the activity (physical) including any enduring materials or marketing materials for both physical and digital activities • Liaise with healthcare experts and vendors ensuring information is shared, deadlines are met and logistics confirmed on assigned projects • Feedback through project debriefs where efficiencies can result in improved performance • Plan and create marketing and promotional campaigns with Marketing Manager and then implement them for the duration of the relevant projects. * Financial management* • Coordinate timely payment of fees and honoraria to Experts and advisors • Thorough and accurate financial management of Independent Medical Education projects, including budget tracking and invoice management; financial reconciliation, if required, upon project completion • Review monthly project progress to make sure all milestones are up to date for all IME projects • Use financial variance reports to foresee issues or opportunities as projects are progressing. • Manage costing disputes with vendors or funders with input from IME Senior Project Director and IME Director where appropriate

Business Development • Establishing positive long term relationships with funder contacts, acting as the primary point of reference according to the requirements of the project and wider funder needs. • Work with IME Senior Project Director to review progress on ongoing basis both with the funder and project delivery using feedback to drive further business. • In conjunction with the IME Senior Project Director troubleshoot and handle objections from the funder to ensure continuing good relationships. • Source and maintain a portfolio of key service providing vendors that can be contracted and used across IME projects * Editorial Services* • In conjunction with the Editorial Team ensure consistently high standards of scientific and editorial quality • Ensure that all work complies with necessary permissions, copyright and privacy laws and ensure that all experts and freelancers have confirmed the originality of their work before assigning copyright to SH • Feed into proposals and produce cost estimates • Edit and proofread medical education content, including Word documents, PowerPoint slides, online content, from internal editorial staff and external Experts in a range of scientific and clinical therapy areas to a high standard

Other general duties • International travel, as required, approximately 5 times per year to Europe and ROW

KEY COMPETENCIES: • Excellent communication skills at all levels • Excellent writing and editing skills • Very strong attention to detail and organisational skills • Pro-active, resourceful and a good team player who can train and mentor other team members • Adaptable and willing to take on new and different responsibilities as they arise • Broad understanding of IME’s main therapy areas and the needs of international healthcare professionals • Fluent in English, written and spoken

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: • Solid experience within STM publishing and/or Medical Communications industries • Account management experience in the medical publishing, medical education or medical communication fields • Experience of creating schedules and managing third party vendors • Editing and managing the creation of successful medical education materials • Delegating responsibilities where necessary to the project coordinator and other project team participants • Line management and development experience of a direct report • Managing and reconciling projects whilst tracking costs and contributing to financial performance reporting

This role is based in London. All employees are working remotely but once when offices re-open, will be required to be based on site in line with the company working from home policy.
