Call for Applications – Mandela Rhodes Scholarship 2025

The Mandela Rhodes Foundation is pleased to invite applications for the 2025 academic year!

Study Location: South Africa
Level: Master’s (1 or 2 years)
Fields of Study: All fields are eligible
Application Deadline: April 21, 2025

Eligibility Requirements:

• Be a citizen of an African country

• Be between 19 and 29 years old

• Have a bachelor’s degree with excellent results (≥ 70% or first-class honors) by January 1, 2025

• Proficient in English (language of instruction)

• Motivated by values of leadership, reconciliation, and social impact

Required Documents:

• Two short personal essays (in English)

• Three letters of recommendation (in English)

• Official transcripts and certificates translated into English

• Copy of your passport and ID card

• Proposed course of study (no proof of admission needed at this stage, but we advise applying as soon as possible)

Ensure your qualifications are recognized in South Africa by SAQA. This process can take 4 to 8 weeks.

What the Scholarship Covers:

• Tuition fees and registration

• Research, study materials, and health insurance

• Accommodation and meals

• Personal allowance

• Return economy-class airfare to and from South Africa
