Summary
The Vijayan lab is seeking a passionate and energetic post-doctoral fellow interested in exploring a role of platelet phosphatase in the metastasis of lung cancer by utilizing a variety of biochemical, cellular, and molecular biology approaches in human and several mouse models. Project will provide opportunities to study platelet phosphatase mediated alterations in the immune response to lung cancer and their survival, development of improved technology to identity extracellular platelet phosphatase in the tumor microenvironment and large-scale analysis and validation of platelet phosphatase in plasma from cancer subjects.
Job Duties
- Plans, directs, and conducts specialized and advanced collaborative research experiments in mice models.
- Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
- Evaluates and analyzes data.
- Summarizes findings, attends lab meetings, and participates in manuscript writing.
- Responsible for some laboratory day to day operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Must be willing to conduct experiments on small animals.
- Experience with biochemical, cellular, and molecular biology experiments/
- Recently defended Ph.D fellows are encouraged to apply.
